Delicious Letters to our Lovely Friends
For the first time in our lives we have time. We have time to listen to each other over a slow breakfast, we read those books we’ve had piled by our bedside table, we bake muffins and devour them with a pot of afternoon tea and we write. Each of us has written letters. The girls have spent early evenings writing to grandparents, painting pictures and writing poems. Florence has made penpals with her class friends and enjoyed receiving handmade bracelets and Helena writes to her cousins overseas. I have made use of my time baking, writing and testing new recipes, enjoying matching flavours of spring together, foraging wild garlic and jarring up pots of wild pesto.
When I heard that Jennifer, owner and creator of Romeo and Jules bepspoke stationery was offering her design services to create recipe cards I was so happy to share my recipes with her. Jennifer has created two beautiful designs and incorporated three of Wild Flours recipes as pdf’s to print off. We have printed ours to A5 size and popped them into letters to our friends. How wonderful would it be to receive a little inspiration in the post? Or come together in the kitchen and together make herby cream cheese bagels for lunch, or make honeycomb and watch the magic happen or even make a tray of orange blossom cakes to gift to the neighbours. Why not decorate them with some edible spring flowers too?
